Common Questions - Ask Well
How do I create a custom prompt?
Go to the Prompts tab and tap the “+” button. Choose a type (open text, 1–5 scale, yes/no, or multiple choice), write your question, and it will appear in your future daily sessions.
Is my journal data private?
Yes. Your entries are stored on your device. There are no accounts, and Increment31 can’t see your journal.
Where is my data stored, and is it backed up?
Your journal is stored only on your device. Ask Well doesn’t upload it anywhere. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, your journal is included in that backup, unless you’ve turned off backup for Ask Well. That backup is managed by you and Apple. Ask Well doesn’t sync between devices.
What’s free and what’s Premium?
Free includes up to 4 active prompts, daily sessions, the feed, calendar, search, the Home Screen widget, daily reminders and Plain Text export. Premium adds unlimited active prompts, Insights built from your real entries, and Journal Book export.
How much does Premium cost?
$6.99 per month (with a 30-day free trial), $49.99 per year, or $99.99 once for lifetime access. Prices are in US dollars and may vary by region. Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID.
Can I skip a prompt?
Yes. Every prompt can be skipped, and you can finish for the day at any time.
How do I export my journal?
Go to History and tap the share button. Choose Plain Text (free) or Journal Book (Premium). You can export everything or pick a date range. Journal Book exports can be protected with a password you choose.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open Settings in Ask Well, tap Restore Purchases, and sign in with the same Apple ID you used to buy.
Does Ask Well use AI?
No. This version of Ask Well doesn’t use AI, and your entries are never sent anywhere. For more details or support, email support@increment31.com.
