Ask Well Privacy Policy

The short version
Your journal stays on your phone. Ask Well has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and we can’t read your entries.
What stays on your device
Your prompts, entries, drafts, settings, App Lock preference and widget data (your streak and whether you’ve finished today) are stored only on your device. Increment31 never receives them.
No accounts
Ask Well has no sign-up or login, so we hold no name, email address or password for you.
Subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to confirm your subscription status. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription information linked to a random anonymous identifier, which it uses to manage subscriptions and report on them. It never receives your journal content.
Ads and tracking
We don’t show ads, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites.
Face ID and notifications
App Lock uses Face ID or your passcode through Apple. We never receive your biometric data. Reminders are scheduled on your device, and we use no push notification service, so we can’t see whether a reminder was delivered.
Exporting your journal
You can export your journal as Plain Text (free) or as a Journal Book PDF (Premium). Exports are created on your device. Journal Book exports can be password-protected with a password you choose. We never see the file or the password, and a lost password can’t be recovered. Once you share or save an export, you control where it goes.
Backups
Ask Well doesn’t upload your journal anywhere. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or to a computer, your journal is included in that backup unless you’ve turned it off for Ask Well. We can’t access those backups, and Ask Well doesn’t sync between devices.
Deleting your data
Use Erase All Data in Settings, or delete the app, to remove your journal from your device. Subscriptions are managed in your Apple ID settings. To request deletion of subscription records, email support@increment31.com with your Support ID.
Children
Ask Well isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.
